报告摘要：

This work focuses on the hotel housekeeping process. In a field study, a possible channel of disease transmission between consecutive guests in hotel rooms is revealed. In order to prevent the transmission, an innovative assembly-line housekeeping method is developed. To carefully design the assembly-line process, the service time distribution of each housekeeping operational step is characterized using data collected from the practice at hundreds of hotel rooms. An optimization model is proposed to optimize the operation. Through a pilot test, the performance of the new and traditional housekeeping methods are compared. The results show that the assembly-line housekeeping process achieves significance improvement in not only hygienic standards but also labor efficiency and service quality (error rate).

主讲人介绍：

王宇，本科毕业于香港科技大学电子工程专业，博士毕业于美国明尼苏达大学工业与系统工程专业，博士毕业后于新加坡管理大学李光前商学院运营管理系担任助理教授。2021年回国加入南方科技大学商学院信息系统与管理工程系任长聘副教授。主要从事运营管理相关研究。已在商科国际顶级UTD期刊上发表论文6篇。研究方向主要分为四大项：运营系统分析与控制；从实际问题出发的运营设计与优化；数据驱动的中国社会有关运营问题研究；商业运营模式创新与开发。
